2 Rivers Remix Launches 2021 VirtualFeast 2RMX Tour with livestreamed DJ Dance Party Sat, May 29

[‘Q’emcin May 25]   2 Rivers Remix (2RMX) is excited to launch its FREE livestreamed DJ/Dance Party –  Decolonise2.0:Heart2Heart (D2H2) – blowing up online Saturday May 29 6-9pm PDT. D2H2 is headlined by the incredible DJ SHUB, Godfather of PowWowStep, formerly of A Tribe Called Red, Mohawk from the Turtle Clan of the Six Nations of Grand River and hosted by the incomparable DJ Kookum! The D2H2 Dance Party will feature Indigenous DJs livestreaming from Nations across Turtle Island, in addition to DJ SHUB: BLKFT (Siksika Nation – DJ and Radio host awarded 2019 National Campus and Community Radio Award for Best Electronic Music Show!), DJ Kookum (Indigenous DJ and multi-media maestro from the Alexis Nakota Sioux/Cold Lake First Nations), and Afro-Indigenous DJ O Show (an elected member of the Squamish Nation Council and a past grandmaster of the Vancouver Pride Parade). 


To get the people’s feet hip-hopping, D2H2 will feature Indigenous online dance divas Madelaine McCallum Mendez (Cree/Métis choreographer from Ile a la Crosse, Saskatchewan) and Nadine Wilson (Heiltsuk/Blackfoot – creator of DiverCITY Dance and head aerialist at the Shambhala Music Festival)!  
D2H2 on May 29 is the launch event of our“VirtualFeast 2RMX Tour” – which will be livestreaming events from several BC Indigenous Nations monthly through August 2021.The virtual tour culminates with the fourth annual 2 Rivers Remix Online Feast of Contemporary Indigenous Music, Sep 4-6, 2021.  


2RMX Tour is part of VirtualFeast.ca, a new indigenous-led online platform to highlight and support streaming of contemporary Indigenous performances during COVID and beyond. VirtualFeast.ca provides a single point of reference and discovery for audiences tuned into the burgeoning BC Indigenous music scene. VirtualFeast.ca is collaborative project of BC Indigenous arts presenters including: 2 Rivers Remix Society, Savage Production Society, Full Circle: First Nations Performance, Vines Festival/Resilient Roots and is supported by CreativeBC.
