Ahead of each Feast
Always free
A quieter gathering of Indigenous artists, thinkers, and cultural leaders that prepares the ground before the music begins.
Intergenerational
Rooted in ceremony
Community-held
The Melawmen Space makes room for the kinds of exchange that don't fit on a festival stage — teaching, listening, and being together.
01
Elders and knowledge keepers share cultural teachings, guiding the gathering with wisdom carried across generations.
02
Artists and community members exchange stories — of place, identity, and the paths that brought everyone together.
03
Hands-on creative and cultural practice, from making to song, shared openly between generations.
04
Ceremony grounds the Space and prepares the community and the land for the Feast to come.

Alongside the Movable Feast
Held in each host community ahead of the Movable Feast, the Melawmen Space is where relationships are built and teachings are shared — so that by the time the music arrives, the whole community is part of it.
It's a slower, deeper kind of gathering: collective learning and connection that carries into everything that follows.
Three days of contemporary Indigenous music, art, and culture — our biggest gathering of the year.
Free music and cultural gatherings brought directly into Indigenous communities across B.C.
A knowledge-exchange of Indigenous artists, activators, and cultural leaders.
Workshops are held in each host community ahead of the Movable Feast. We'll share dates and details as each gathering is confirmed.
